Hulu Selangor gets RM5 mln from Putrajaya for infrastructure improvements

HULU SELANGOR, Apr 18 — The Local Government and Housing Ministry has allocated RM5.21 million to upgrade over 10 public facilities in Hulu Selangor, as well as for contribution to non-Muslim places of worship. 

Its minister Nga Kor Ming said among other things, the fund will be used to repair and upgrade existing food courts, the Rasa public market and facilities at Taman Tasik Millenium, besides resurfacing works on several roads. 

He said the funds were distributed to the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) and respective village community management councils responsible for implementing the projects.

“The effort is aimed at improving the comfort, safety and well-being of residents. It not only fosters local economic growth, but also ensures prosperity within the community.  

“We are also contributing RM10,000 to the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association here to improve the team’s efficiency, in addition to donating RM127,050 to the Persatuan Berhala Sri Sithi Vinayagar for the repair of existing buildings. 

“The ministry has also approved RM250,000 for the Persatuan Penganut Dewa Siaw Kong and  Dewi Lee Ma to repair their dilapidated building,” he said at a press conference today.

Earlier, Nga visited various locations in Hulu Selangor, such as Taman Tasik Milenium, the food court on Jalan Abdul Hamid, Kampung Assam Kumbang, and Rumah Madani Rakyat Kampung Air Panas as part of the ministry’s Sentuhan Kasih KPKT programme. 

He said Hulu Selangor sas been selected as the first location of the programme to ensure its success, with plans for expansion to other states in the future. 

He was accompanied by state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han.
