SHAH ALAM, April 1 — In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations next month, 900 individuals from low-income families in the Kota Anggerik state constituency have received Jom Shopping Perayaan vouchers.

The RM200 vouchers were distributed by Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Mohd Najwan Halimi via his community service centre, involving a RM180,000 allocation.

“This initiative, spearheaded by the state government through the Kota Anggerik constituency office, has benefited 900 individuals.

“We hope this assistance will provide recipients with the opportunity to purchase necessities for Aidilfitri, thereby alleviating their burdens and bringing them joy,” he said when contacted.

Last year, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the continuation of the Jom Shopping Perayaan voucher assistance programme for major festivals, with a RM16.48 million allocation.

He said the RM200 vouchers target 82,400 low-income families and are implemented during three major celebrations, namely the Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and Deepavali.
