SHAH ALAM, April 8 — The Office of the Menteri Besar, collaborating with volunteers from Team Selangor, conducted a gotong-royong to prepare Hari Raya Aidilfitri meals for distribution to the local community in the city.
Team Selangor chief operations officer Sadina Suffian said the Gempak Raya programme saw 70 volunteers cooking lemang, dodol, and chicken rendang.
“The preparations began early in the morning. For the chicken rendang, we used 70 chickens. Five pots of dodol were specially cooked by Team Selangor from Semenyih.
“300 sticks of lemang were fully prepared by Team Selangor from Hulu Selangor as that is their area of expertise,” she said to SelangorKini.
The program took place at the Menteri Besar’s official residence in Section 7, with all the meals distributed by the afternoon.
On March 23, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, distributed 5,000 packs of bubur lambuk at three locations around Shah Alam.
Via the Jelajah Bubur Lambuk 2024 programme, distributions were made at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Polytechnic, the Selangor police contingent headquarters, and at Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
