Agong’s birthday deferred to September

SHAH ALAM, JULY 13: The Official Birthday Celebration of Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V this year has been deferred from July 29 to Saturday, September 9.
The Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) announced the deferment in a statement today which is the second time it is deferred.
Last April, the government announced that the celebration will be deferred from the first Saturday of June to the last Saturday of July, throughout His Majesty’s five-year reign, until 2021.
According to JPM’s statement last April 26, the deferment is in view that the first Saturdays in June of 2017, 2018 and 2019 will fall in the month of Ramadan.
