PETALING JAYA, AUG 21: The 2017 Sustainable Society Award organised by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is back with two new categories, junior and child.
Its Mayor, Dato’ Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain said, a junior participant needs to present a proposed plan for the neighbourhood and will be assessed based on idea, creatitivity, ability to build a network and collaborate with residents as well as the impact.
Meanwhile, MBPJ provides the opportunity for children to make the city inhabitable through the I-Play Park project in Damansara Damai which was built based on their ideas.
“MBPJ realises that the youth is an important group who will inherit the community, city, state and country’s administration and leadership.
“While the children are given the opportunity consistent with MBPJ’s effort to empower this group,” he said at the PJKITA Open Day and 2017 Sustainable Society Award Launch at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, yesterday.
Mohd Azizi said, the competition which started yesterday (August 20, 2017) until October 20 also offers RM261,000 in cash prize.
