BY HAFIZAN TAIB
PETALING JAYA, OCT 17: The 2017 Tour De Selangor cycling championship presents different challenges to riders when it starts at one station throughout the duration.
Exco Generasi Muda, Sukan, Kebudayaan dan Pembangunan Usahawan, Amirudin Shari said the State Government through the Selangor State’s Sports Council (MSN), hopes these changes will be well-received by participants and public.
“Compared to other tournaments started at a certain location, the difference with this is that it starts in Shah Alam and across all districts except Sabak Bernam.
“We will listen to feedback from the riders and I believe after that the response from public will improve,” he told SelangorKini after officiating the Tour De Selangor 2017 Cycling Chanpionship at Laman MBPJ, here today.

The championship will begin in Petaling Jaya with the cooperation from Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) where riders will terminate the race at Bukit Melawati, Kuala Selangor.
A total of 15 teams from within and outside the country will face five stages of the race, as far as 558.4 kilometres.
Amirudin said the State Government is hoping that the championship, held for the first time, will go smoothly and will continue in the future.
“I hope the tournament will continue, if not annually maybe in every two years,” he said.
