BATU CAVES, Jan 24 — The Selangor government has announced the immediate effect of the 100-Days Approval Policy for the planning and land development approval processes.

Its Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the new policy was introduced to expedite the approval process, which on average would take 270 days to complete.

“With this policy, the processes in planning and land development approval in Selangor, which had usually taken between 270 days to one year, would be reduced to almost 50 per cent.

“This would in return attract more investors into the state and increase the productivity due to ease of doing business,” he said in a press conference at Balai Penghulu Mukim Batu Gombak here today.

Amirudin said the approval would involve planning permission, development planning, and infrastructure planning.

The reduced duration of the approval process that was decided in the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) meeting yesterday would observe the premium deposit payment mechanism set by the state Land and Mines Office.

The 100-Days Approval Policy, which was announced in the Selangor Budget 2020 last year, has set 100 days as the maximum business period for the due processes to obtain planning and land development permissions.
