Three districts in Selangor identified as Covid-19 red zone

SHAH ALAM, March 27 — Three districts in Selangor have been declared as Covid-19 red zones after recording over 40 cases so far.

According to the statistics provided by the Health Ministry (MOH) via its official Twitter account, Petaling Jaya recorded the highest number of cases with 167, followed by Hulu Langat (132) and Gombak (53).

The other areas which have been classified as red zones include Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur (167 cases); Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (78 cases) and Johor Bahru, Johor (68 cases).

Meanwhile, Kluang, Johor recorded 54 cases; Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur (49 cases); Kota Bharu, Kelantan (48 cases); Hilir Perak (48 cases) and Kinta, Perak (41 cases).

MOH reminded those living in the red zone areas to increase preventive measures, especially by staying at home and avoiding large crowds.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah previously said that any area or district with more than 40 Covid-19 cases would be declared as a red zone.
