No Ramadan bazaar in Selangor, says MB

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, April 1 — The Selangor government has decided to cancel Ramadan bazaar until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic, says Mentri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today.

He said the ban could be lifted but subject to the Health Ministry’s (MOH) approval.

“If the MOH advises that it can be done, then we will proceed but for now, we will be suspending it,” he said during a press conference after announcing the second phase of the state stimulus package, Selangor Cares Package 2.0 (Pakej Selangor Prihatin 2.0).

Amirudin said the matter was discussed earlier today and a cancellation order would be issued by the Selangor state secretary.

“I believe there would be online Ramadan bazaar as there are delivery services,” he said.

Previously, several states have cancelled the Ramadan bazaar due to the Covid-19 outbreak, which had infected 2,908 people in the country as of noon today.
