Selangor announces half-month salary bonus for civil servants

By Alang Bendahara

SHAH ALAM, Oct 30 — Selangor announces a half-month salary incentive to its civil servants of grade 54 and below, which will be disbursed on December 29.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the one-off cash aid is to appreciate the hard work and commitment of the civil servants who had worked tirelessly to bring prosperity to the state.

“I am happy to announce for the second special financial aid for the civil servants this year, the state government has agreed to give a half-month salary incentive to those grade 54 and below,” said Amirudin during the closing of his tabling of the Belanjawan Selangor 2021 (2021 Selangor Budget), here today.

He said the initiative will cost the state a total RM16,531,737.93 million.

On June 9, the Selangor administration had given out RM1,000 in its first special financial aid for the civil servants.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said the professionalism shown by Selangor civil servants made them the envy of other states.

“In fact, discreetly, there were other Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers who told me they are jealous of me having the support of professional civil servants.

“God’s willing, with the help of these civil servants, we will be able to realise all the agendas that have been planned to benefit the people of Selangor,” he said.

Amirudin said the civil servants in the state had also shown their professionalism in working tirelessly to implement the movement control order (MCO), conditional MCO, and the enhanced MCO, during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said about 4,593 frontliners or civil servants from the state secretariat, Land and District office, and local authorities had participated in the fight against the coronavirus.
