Two senior company directors remanded over alleged misappropriation of funds

PUTRAJAYA, April 24 — Two senior directors of a construction company based in China were remanded for two days starting yesterday to assist investigations into alleged misappropriation of company funds and acts of bribery.

Putrajaya Court assistant registrar Nor Azilawati Abdullah issued the remand order after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) submitted an application to remand the two men including a Chinese national yesterday.

According to a source in MACC, the managing director and senior finance director at the construction company, in their 40s and 50s, were detained at the MACC headquarters here at 12.30 pm yesterday after they gave their statements.

They were being investigated under Section 16 (b) of the MACC Act, said the source.
