Taman Templer rep urges constituents to undergo Selangor Saring health screening

SHAH ALAM, May 20 — Residents around the Taman Templer state constituency should take advantage of the Selangor Saring health screening programme and avoid the risk of chronic diseases.

Its state assemblyman Mohd Sany Hamzan said the people should not waste the free initiative offered by the state government as it is an opportunity for them to know about their health status.

“It is very important the public go for this screening so they can get a clearer picture of their health. Maybe all this time they feel they do not have any health problems, but with this screening, they could know more.

“As we age, various ailments can emerge including high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. At least they can learn to take precautions by changing their lifestyles and controlling their diet,” he said when contacted.

In the meantime, Mohd Sany said the Selangor Saring health screening programme for his constituency has been set for July 17 at a location that will be determined later.

He also advised residents to register through the SELangkah app or at the selangorsaring.selangkah.my portal.

“Announcements about the programme have been made on multiple channels including through councillors and village heads as well as in residents’ Whatsapp groups. We have also put up banners in certain areas,” Mohd Sany said.

The state government has allocated RM3.4 million to implement the Selangor Saring programme which focuses on screening for heart disease, diabetes, cancer and glaucoma.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme is expected to benefit some 39,000 people especially those at risk such as those with a family history of ailments, individuals who are overweight and those living unhealthy lifestyles.
