Citing news from Kosmo!, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the incident occurred at 2pm after the 19-year-old victim held the blower funnel while being in an inundated area.

“Based on our investigation, the student fell unconscious after being electrocuted when he held the blower funnel.

“The incident took place when floodwater rose to 0.5 metres level within the Giat Mara compound,” he said.

Norazam added the victim was sent to Tanjong Karang Hospital for further treatment while the premise management was ordered to turn off their electrical supply.

Thousands of homes as well as public premises including the police station in Sekinchan were inundated by almost 0.5 metres of floodwater yesterday.
