SHAH ALAM, June 17 — The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) has invited the public to participate in the inaugural Klang Car Free Day celebration this Sunday.

Its president Noraini Roslan said this is the first time MPK will organise such a programme which will be held at Padang Laman Seni Safari from 7am to 9.30am.

“A 2.4 kilometres stretch of road will be closed from Jalan Stesen to Jalan Istana. This is part of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and caring for the environment.

“Besides that, people can spend time with their families as well as see the economic activities of the Klang community and its unity,” she told SelangorKini.

She added that among the activities planned are picnic and colouring competitions for the children as well as light physical exercise.
