Be wary of scam phone calls using K-Komm’s name

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 — Members of the public are advised to be wary of scam phone calls allegedly from individuals claiming to be from the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-Komm).

K-Komm secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek also asked the public to verify the calls by calling the ministry on its official lines at 03-89115351, 03-89115188, 03-89115258 or 03-89115265.

“Apart from that, members of the public are also advised not to provide or disclose any information to the callers,” he said in a statement here today.

Any suspected scam phone call or text message must be reported to the Royal Malaysia Police’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) Response Centre at 03-26101559 or 03-26101599.
