Warning issued over water levels at Sungai Selangor, Sungai Labu — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Oct 12 — A warning has been issued on the water level at two rivers in Selangor, while another two rivers have reached the alert level.

The state executive councillor for infrastructure and public amenities Izham Hashim said that this was following the heavy rain in Selangor this morning, which recorded a reading of 31-60 millimetres (mm) in an hour.

“Two rivers, namely Sungai Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Sungai Labu, Sepang, recorded warning levels.

“While two other rivers, Sungai Klang, Klang, and Sungai Beranang, Hulu Langat, reached the alert level,” he said on Facebook, today.

Izham had alerted the residents in the said areas to remain cautious and take precautionary actions.

“Follow the website https://publicinfobanjir.water.gov.my on the updates of the current flood situation,” he added.

Earlier, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) had issued a thunderstorms warning to continue in four Selangor districts, namely Hulu Selangor, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang, until 1pm.
