Four ministers dropped by BN as GE15 candidates

SHAH ALAM, Nov 1 — Four ministers were not re-appointed as Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in the upcoming 15th general election, during the announcement by the coalition chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

They include Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa who is also Ketereh MP, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim who is also Arau MP, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba who is also Tenggara MP, and National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique who is also Kota Tinggi MP.

However, the candidate for the Tanjong Karang parliamentary seat held by Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar was not announced.

Zahid made the announcement at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur earlier tonight. BN similarly did not announce its candidates for Jempol, Kuala Pilah, and Bandar Tun Razak.

The Election Commission has set November 19 as the polling day, while the nomination of candidates is on November 5, with early voting on November 15.
