Sprinter Azeem chooses Auburn University 

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 — National sprint sensation Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi finally has decided his pathway in achieving his ambition of being a successful individual, both on and off the track.

After months of speculations on the 18-year-old’s future, Muhammad Azeem has chosen Auburn University in Alabama.

“Malaysia to Auburn. Welcome home, Azeem Fahmi,” Auburn Track and Field announced on its social media platform early today.

Previously, it was reported that Muhammad Azeem received over 10 offers to further his studies at foreign universities, mainly after finishing fifth in the 100m final at the Under-20 World Ahletics Championships in Cali, Colombia in August.

The Perak-born, had earlier set a new national 100m record of 10.09 seconds (in the heats) in Cali, erasing the old mark of 10.18s set by former Southeast Asia sprint champion Khairul Hafiz Jantan.
