SHAH ALAM, Dec 3 — Two landslides occurred in Puchong yesterday night, which damaged several vehicles, said state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han.

In a Facebook post, he said the landslides took place at Saraka Apartment dan Sri Penaga Apartment, both of which are situated in Pusat Bandar Puchong.

“Four vehicles at Saraka Apartment and one vehicle at Sri Penanga Apartment were damaged by the landslides. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.

“A temporary relief centre was prepared by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) at Dewan Serbaguna Laman Puteri, which was later closed as no victims were evacuated to the centre,” he said.

Ng added that MBSJ is currently analysing the slopes in the area as a precautionary measure.

“As an immediate step to reduce the risk of landslides, canvases will be installed to cover the slopes. The sites of the landslides have been cleared, and any fallen trees have also been removed.

“I call upon all residents to cooperate with the agencies and their personnel carrying out their duties, including MBSJ, the Petaling Land and District Office, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, and the Fire and Rescue Department. Please stay away from the landslide sites,” he said.
