Avoid statements that destabilise PAKATAN – MB

BY: NAZLI IBRAHIM
SHAH ALAM, JUL 25: Pakatan leaders were reminded not to issue statements that would jeopardise the coalition’s consensus and to retain the rakyat’s mandate given during the 13th General Election.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said that this was in line with the rakyat’s desires at the grassroots level that wants the coalition to sit down together and establish closer cooperation.
“I have stressed as a State Assemblyman that we should defend the democratic process and mandate given by the rakyat in 2013 which clearly gives us full support with the greatest majority Pakatan has ever gained.

“I want all parties to respect today’s sentiment. If we listen to the social media and grassroots, the rakyat wants all parties to sit down and talk for the betterment of the state and country.
“They do not want us fighting and I am duty bound to listen to the rakyat’s voice,” he said to the media after attending the Freedom of Information Forum at the Annex Building of the Selangor State Assembly.
Mohamed Azmin said that consensus within the Selangor state administration can serve as the best example for administration to any government.
In addition to respecting the rakyat’s mandate, he also urged that the royal institutions, including Selangor, be defended and revered.
“We should be grateful that the Selangor royal institution does not intervene in administrative and political matters.
“Do not issue statements that can cause suspicion and negative perceptions,” he said.
