SHAH ALAM, SEP 14: Grand Sepadu (NK) Sdn Bhd contributed five sacrificial cows to five villages around Jalan Kapar, in conjunction with the Aidiladha celebration this year.
Grand Sepadu Assistant General Manager Abdul Razak Hashim said this is the second time they are contributing sacrificial cows as a part of their corporate social responsibility to help villagers and the poor.
“Five villages were selected near this highway and they were Kampung Batu 3, Kampung Batu 4, Kampung Sungai Pinang, Kampung Rantau Panjang and Kampung Sementa.
“We are doing this as an annual event to celebrate with orphans, the poor and also the rest of the locals.
“In total, there were five cows costing RM26,000,” he said to SelangorKini at the Grand Sepadu (NK) Sdn Bhd Management Office in Klang here on morning of September 24.
The villagers were grateful and thanked Grand Sepadu for their contribution this second time round.
Sungai Pinang Village Head Hamdan Yusof, 55, said the contribution indirectly improved relations between Grand Sepadu and the locals.
“Although the villages and the highway are close-by, we do not know each other well. Hopefully, we can develop closer ties in an effort to create a more noble and united generation,” he said.
Batu 3 Village Head Mohd Darin Samijo, 53, said the villagers were excited with the contribution received from the company.
“On behalf of the villagers, I would like to thank the highway company for contributing one cow to each village in conjunction with the Aidiladha celebration this year.
“Hopefully the programme can continue to be implemented next year,” he said.
Meanwhile, Samsidi Sudri, 65, said that indirectly the contribution helped to reduce the burden of villagers particularly the asnaf (eligible zakat recipient).
“We place more importance on the asnaf who need the meat more,” he said.
