2017 Budget able to overcome income gap

BY LIZAWATI MADFA
SHAH ALAM, NOV 2: “The 2017 Selangor Budget is able to overcome the issue of  income gaps,” said by Kampung Tunku Assemblyman Lau Weng San.
He said that it also meets the ‘distributive justice’ philosophy from the book ‘The Theory of Justice’, written by John Rawls.
He said, most importantly, Selangor is a step ahead in realising almost all of the general election promises.
“The State Government revenue has reached RM3.25 billion compared to RM1.4 billion in 2008, while government cash declined to RM234.9 million compared to RM733.6 million on 2008.
“Although part of the cash reserve has been invested, I urge the executives to ensure that there is enough cash for unexpected expenses,” he said.
He said that during the 2017 Supply Law Enactment bill debate at Selangor State Legislative Assembly on November 2.
At the same time, Lau reminded all that Selangor was dependent on Malaysia’s survival.
“Selangor does not have its own currency as we are using the Malaysian Ringgit.
“In the event that the ringgit is weak, then Selangor will go nowhere in terms of progress,” he said.
