Control on water resources enforced to avoid factory pollution

SHAH ALAM, NOV 1: Improvement of the state’s raw water resources control will be enforced at the state level through discussions made in the State Executive Council.
Exco for Local Government, New Village Development and Legalising of Factories Ean Yong Hian Wah said that the discussions covered several key issues to ensure clean water resources control is guaranteed.
“These efforts include increasing the frequency of enforcement at the river valley of the raw water resources, in addition to increasing the number of and improving technology of testing and monitoring enforcement tools.
“In addition, we may also relocate factories from upstream LPA to downstream LPA,” he said in answer to questions from Member of the Legislative Assembly (ADUN) Damansara Utama, pertaining to commitment to ensure raw water resources control is maintained.
In a similar development, he said that plant operators are required to maintain plant materials waste disposal consistently across the country.
“Plant operators are required to contribute funds to build, manage and maintain the special integrated LPA integrated that can treat effluent waste,” he said.
