Do not insult Selangor Open House’s guests

BY AFIX REDZUAN
SHAH ALAM, JULY 3: Housing, Building Management and Urban Settlement Exco, Dato’ Iskandar Abdul Samad criticised a few groups who described the guests of Selangor Eidulfitri Open House Ceremony as famished and deprived of food.
He said, everyone must face the fact and empathise with the few groups of people who cannot afford to prepare the best meal for Syawal.
“I strongly condemn those who insulted the guests, who came in groups to the State’s function yesterday, as being deprived of food, famished or beggar.
“If you are used to good food then you don’t need to insult others. There are many common people who cannot afford to prepare special dishes for their family during this festive time.
Raya
“There were some who came to see YB asking for donation to buy meat.  They need to think twice to even buy raya goodies, what more to buy new clothes,” he said in a statement.
He said, the open house at least made them happy to enjoy some special meals in conjunction with Aidilfitri.
The open house sponsored by the State Government at the Padang Perbandaran of Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) was more cheerful with the attendance of over 50,000 people who started to arrive since 8 a.m.
There were 47 food stalls serving varieties of food. The function was also graced by the presence of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
