PKNS to be competitive regional industrial player

SHAH ALAM, AUG 1: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is asked to be a competitive regional industrial player with assets worth RM5.93 billion and group assets worth RM7.72 billion.
Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said, that entails becoming highly competitive, producing innovative products and ensuring all its subsidiaries operate according to its strategic framework.
“These huge resources and financial assets demand the best practice in corporate governance.
“PKNS Chief Executive Officer and management must comply to financial protocols,” he said.
He said that in a speech during the PKNS Corporate Headquarters Officiating Ceremony today.

Mohamed Azmin who is also PKNS Chairman said, the corporation and its 11 subsidiaries had also signed the Pledge of Integrity with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Corporation (MACC).
He added that it is mandatory for every PKNS Corporation Member to sign a Declaration of Interest before starting every Corporation Members’ Meeting.
“It is to ensure that they have no vested interest on the papers being tabled and discussed in these meetings.
“PKNS believes this is more effective in protecting the public and Selangor citizens’ interest and prevents the practice of corruption.
“The State Government has also taken the same measure at every State Executive Council Meeting (MMKN),” he said.
