50 new cases in Selangor, another district close to becoming red zone

SHAH ALAM, April 15 — The number of daily recorded cases in Selangor sees a rise with 50 cases as of noon yesterday, according to the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC).

The increase in cases was a significant hike in comparison to the 13 cases registered on Monday.

The cumulative confirmed cases in the state were 1,299 out of the 4,987 cases recorded across the country.

“The movement control order (MCO) will enter its third phase tomorrow (today), we must break the chain of infection.

“Everyone has to do it, then it will be effective,” the task force said on Twitter, last night.

Meanwhile, STFC had also reminded the people in Kuala Selangor to abide by the MCO as the district is on the brink of becoming a red zone with 34 total Covid-19 cases registered.

“MCO compliance should be observed to avoid it from being the seventh red zone in the district.

“Remind one another to be disciplined and do not be complacent,” said STFC.

Six districts in Selangor are categorised as red zones, namely Hulu Langat with 433 Covid-19 cases, Petaling (367), Klang (166), Gombak (137), Sepang (62), and Hulu Selangor (48).

The Health Ministry has set the red zone category for areas with at least 41 Covid-19 positive cases; orange zone (20-40 cases); yellow zone (1-19 cases); and green zone (no case).
