Over 90 pct Selangor people comply with MCO

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, April 9 — Over 90 per cent people in Selangor have abided by the ongoing movement control order (MCO), says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor Menteri Besar said the compliance rate was provided by the Selangor police, which saw an increase from the previously recorded data of below 80 per cent.

“To all of Malaysians especially the people in Selangor, continue to observe the MCO, stay at home and practise social distancing when you are outside.

“This is the best time for us to flatten the Covid-19 curve,” he said in an interview aired on TV3’s morning talk show Malaysia Hari Ini, earlier today.

Amirudin had also called for the people to overcome racial and political differences when facing such pandemic, which is also a global threat.

The death toll across the world has reached 86,289 as of last night, according to a tally compiled by AFP news wire.

Almost 1.5 million positive cases have been registered in 192 countries and territories since the disease first emerged last December, and some 280,300 recoveries were reported.
