Selangor records six new Covid-19 cases

By Ida Nadirah Ibrahim

SHAH ALAM, April 27 — Selangor sees an increase of six new positive Covid-19 cases out of the 38 daily cases recorded yesterday.

This brings the total tally in the state to 1,394 out of the total 5,780 accumulated number of cases recorded nationwide.

According to the data produced by the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre of the Selangor State Health Department, the death toll in the state is at 17.

The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 said although there is an upward trend in new cases compared to Saturday, where one case was recorded, the number remains a single digit.

“We have to be consistent in abiding by the MCO (movement control order) and practise good hygiene,” the task force said on Twitter last night.

Though the red and yellow zones in the state are still contained, STFC had reminded the public to not take the enforced order for granted.

“The rampant spread of the disease can happen again if we do not continue to practise social distancing and good hygiene habits,” it added.

Selangor has 230 active Covid-19 cases out of the total tally.

One township in Selangor is categorised as a red zone with 55 active cases registered.

Three districts in the state are classified as a red zone, namely Hulu Langat with 85 active cases, Petaling (52), and Klang (44).
