All premises in Selangor to use SELangkah effective immediately, says MB

SHAH ALAM, May 6 — The SELangkah Covid-19 contact tracing system will be adopted at all state government, private and business premises in Selangor, taking effect immediately.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this includes state administrative buildings, private offices, restaurants, shopping malls as well as healthcare facilities across the state.

He said the decision was made during the Selangor State Executive Council meeting earlier this morning.

“The simple online portal is free and open to everyone. It functions as an electronic logbook (e-logbook) that would record the visitation history of everyone at a particular premise.

“The extensive utilisation of the system will complement the Federal government’s efforts in Convid-19 contact tracing through the MyTrace phone application as well as to double-check the information. This will help in the efforts to contain the virus outbreak,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier, The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad had said that SELangkah system should be used until a vaccine for the coronavirus is found.
