MB: Selangor pioneers in coronavirus drive-through screening service

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, June 10 — Selangor has pioneered in the drive-through concept of the coronavirus mass community screening that was carried out in the state in April.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative, which was carried out in collaboration with Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) wholly-owned subsidiary Selcare Clinic, had prioritised those in the high-risk groups and symptomatic individuals.

“This (the effort) has helped with Covid-19 contact tracing in Selangor. Thank you to all that were involved,” said Amirudin on a Facebook post today.

The drive-through Covid-19 testing, which focused in the red zone, was also conducted by several local authorities in Selangor in its efforts to curb the spread of the infection.

Selangor had also initiated the Covid-19 mass community testing via a door-to-door initiative in several stages from April 11 to 23.

Out of the total 5,433 samples taken, 10 had tested positive for Covid-19 whereby eight were asymptomatic patients.
