CMCO in Mukim 12 Barat Daya, Penang, from Nov 6-18 — Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 — A conditional movement control order (CMCO) will be imposed in Mukim 12 Barat Daya, Penang from November 6-18.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the CMCO was to enable the Ministry of Health (MOH) to conduct targeted screenings in the sub-district.

“As of November 3, there have been 35 positive Covid-19 cases recorded in the sub-district including 11 new ones. After receiving advice from the MOH following increase in the number of cases in the sub-district, the National Security Council’s (NSC) special meeting decided to implement the CMCO in the area.

“The standard operating procedure (SOP) for the CMCO is still the same as previously announced,” he said during his press conference here today.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at the Taman Harmoni People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Sandakan which began on October 23 would end as scheduled tomorrow (November 5).

“As of October 26, screenings conducted by the MOH confirmed there were no new positive Covid-19 cases in this area. However, the area is still subject to the CMCO implemented throughout Sabah until November 9,” he said.

In another development, he said the police had arrested 382 individuals yesterday for violating the RMCO, with 364 of them compounded and 18 remanded.

Commenting on the Op Benteng operation to safeguard the country’s borders, he said 23 individuals were arrested yesterday including 16 illegal immigrants, with 10 land vehicles seized.

Apart from that, Ismail Sabri said a total of 50,336 individuals have returned to the country from July 24 to date.

He said 9,797 individuals were still undergoing compulsory quarantine at 66 hotels and 19 other premises including the Public Training Institutes and private educational institutions nationwide.
