By Norrasyidah Arshad
SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — The Selangor state government has developed a centralised database to train 200,000 small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) with digitalisation knowledge.

State executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail said the SME platform under the purview of the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) aims to assist entrepreneurs to expand their product-marketing through the use of social media.

Rodziah said as many as 1,000 entrepreneurs have successfully registered within the first two months of its introduction in July.

“This effort will be continued until 2025 so that Selangor will be able to target a larger economic contribution for the country,” she said in a statement.

Rodziah explained that business information is being gathered to determine the strengths and challenges faced by entrepreneurs so that assistance in terms of product marketing process can be better channeled and be more effective.

“A Selangor SME digital directory will also be established so that the centralisation of these entrepreneurs will be able to expose them to a wider market, domestically and abroad,” she added.
