SELangkah community screening portal refined, streamline contact tracing

SHAH ALAM, Dec 11 — The SELangkah community screening portal has been refined to ensure smooth-running of contact tracing and speeding up the Covid-19 screening process, making it the first integrated digital solution in Malaysia.

SELangkah Ventures Sdn Bhd chairman Dr Muaz Omar said the portal offers the integration for contact tracing, quick screening, diagnosis, report, as well as monitoring.

“The integration process is crucial in efforts to reduce the number of tests collected especially when there is a spike in cases within a community.

“The new technological solution would ensure individuals at risk that have been traced would be prompted for testing, which would help in the screening process,” he said.

The portal was activated on December 2 during the state government’s mass screening programme on the residents in several residential areas in Meru, Klang, where the people have pre-registered a day before the portal was launched via the website at https://screening.selangkah.my.

The initiative had received a positive response with village heads and state representatives spreading the word to the public.

With the use of the new digital solution, a total of 44.2 per cent of the residents screened were tested within five hours and the results were made available within 24 hours.

To streamline the delivery of reporting, the results are shared with the Health Ministry through the Public Health Laboratory Information System.

The public has been advised to register with SELangkah to receive notifications on the state government’s free screening programmes that will be held from time to time.
