24 MBSJ councillors take their oath

SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 — A new batch of 24 councillors  including six new faces were sworn in at Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) yesterday.

MBSJ Corporate and Strategic Management Department deputy director Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said all the appointed councillors officially began their duties from January 1 until December 31 next year.

He said 13 of the councillors quota were allocated to the Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Keadilan Rakyat PKR (7) and Parti Amanah Negara (4).

“The appointments of the councillors were approved during the 43/2020 State Executive Council Meeting (MMKN) with 19 of them to commence their duties on the same day as their swearing-in,” Azfarizal said in a statement.

Yesterday’s swearing-in and integrity pledge ceremonies were made before Subang Jaya mayor Noraini Roslan and deputy mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali at Meeting Room 2, Level 3, at the MBSJ headquarters.
