Limited operating hours for IRB counters during MCO, CMCO, RMCO

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 — The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has limited the operating hours of its service counters nationwide throughout the implementation of the movement control order (MCO), conditional MCO (CMCO) and recovery MCO (RMCO).

IRB, in a statement today said the operating hours for its local counter services are 8am to 1pm, subject to the working days in each state.

“The stamp duty counters will operate 8am to 1pm, based on working days in each state, but the payments will only be received till 12 noon,” it said.

The operating hours for business name registration counters in Kuching, Sarawak, are 8am to 1pm and payments can only be received till 12 noon.

IRB said the operating hours for payment counters in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching are 8am to 1pm for cash payments, and 8am to 3pm for payments other than cash, Mondays to Fridays.

It also encouraged taxpayers to conduct online transactions during the period in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
