Free Covid-19 screening for MBSJ frontliners

SHAH ALAM, Feb 11 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has organised the second phase of its free Covid-19 and health screening initiative to screen 98 of its frontliners using Combat Flex.

MBSJ Corporate and Strategic Management Department deputy director Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said those involved in the screening were the city council’s enforcement officers and personnel from the Special Action Squad (Pantas) with the cooperation of IMedik, Yayasan Ikhlas and Pertubuhan Bangun Bersama.

“The first phase was organised from May 12 to 15 (last year).

“The checks were conducted by medical officers using Combat Flex, a spatial innovation in the form of mobile partition which is light and safe and needs no direct interaction to ensure the safety of the healthcare workers as well as the smooth delivery of the swabbing process,” said Azfarizal.

He said the screening using the innovative method took only 10 minutes to be completed and frontliners involved in conducting checks were not required to wear the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to obtain the patient’s sample and it can be easily set up anywhere.

“These health checks are held to show our appreciation to our frontliners who have been committed in carrying out their duty while risking their lives to be exposed to the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the movement control order (MCO) period,” he added.

The Combat Flex is a safer way for health care workers to screen patients which is also capable of helping reduce the cost of PPE.
