PETALING JAYA, June 18 — Strata managements should not allow deliverymen or food delivery riders to physically interact with its building residents.
Housing and Local Government Ministry Strata Management Division Enforcement Unit head Insp Mohammad Izzat Hassan said the management should instead provide a specific space for the items delivered to be dropped off at.
“If they allow the riders or visitors to enter the resident’s unit, they will be charged for breaching the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by National Security Council (NSC).
“Aside from keeping everyone safe, we also want to curb the spread of Covid-19. No more compromises and action will be taken should anyone break the rule,” Mohammad Izzat told the media after the Strata Management SOP Compliance Operation with Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) at Zenith Residences, here yesterday.
Mohammad Izzat also commented on the poor strata security system which needs to be tightened.
“During the enforcement operation, we found that some management had committed general offences such as not providing disinfectant liquid at the entrance, did not scan body temperature of visitors and some visitors had also failed to scan the MySejahtera code.
“We issued them a warning. But action will be taken should they commit repeated offences,” he said.
