SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — Selangor government has established a Community Health Volunteer (CHV) programme to conduct activities related to public health in the community especially on those related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said CHV is open to all healthy citizens aged 18 and above residing in Selangor.

Those selected to become volunteers will be trained using modules on Covid-19 before being mobilised to all 56 state constituencies in Selangor.

“The volunteers will be trained periodically on patients management, conducting Covid-19 test at home, procedures on checking of patients at home, use of home assessment tools kit via the SELangkah mobile app and many more.

“To add value to the programme, volunteers will get benefits from the Peduli Sihat Insurance Scheme (SIPS) and receive volunteers kits, as well undergo free training handled by certified agency or organisation,” she said in a statement.
