SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 — Tourism Selangor has chosen the famous Tik Tok mobile application as a medium to promote tourism destinations in the state.
Its Corporate Communication manager Ahmad Nazri Tashriq Rahmat said the approach to use Tik Tok is more efficient and able to boost the tourism sector in Selangor in the short term.
“The promotion covers every aspect namely tourism, accommodation and local foods to attract the visitors.
“Since a week ago, we received a lot of questions from the public on tourism destinations across the state, especially the location for picnic activities,” he told SelangorKini.
Meanwhile, commenting on the distribution of the RM50 Selangor tourism voucher 2.0, Ahmad Nazri said the initiative depends on the progress of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
“Last year, the RM200 voucher could only benefit 10,000 individuals but this time, the RM50 vouchers will be able to benefit 20,000 individuals,” he said.
On July 16, a total of 20,000 Selangor tourism voucher 2.0 were offered by the state government and it can be redeemed as early as October should the Covid-19 cases have subsided.
State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said currently the state government is monitoring the outbreak as well as the shift to the next phase as outlined in the recovery plan.
