SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — Water supply has been restored to 28 per cent of the 998 areas, which experienced scheduled water cuts following the upgrading and maintenance works on critical assets at Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP), as at 7am today.

In a statement today, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) stated that Kuala Selangor recorded the highest recovery rate with 75.6 per cent followed by Hulu Selangor (60.7 per cent), Petaling (60.4 per cent), Shah Alam (40.4 per cent) and Klang (0.9 per cent).

Meanwhile, other affected areas in Gombak, Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Langat have not received water supply.

Air Selangor started works at the SSP1 WTP on Wednesday after obtaining approval from the National Water Services Commission (Span).

Several areas near the plant started receiving water supply at 7pm yesterday.

Consumers in the affected areas are advised to follow the latest updates via the https://hentitugas.airselangor.com/ website.

Air Selangor has provided 18 public water taps and mobilised 105 water tankers to affected areas, with priority for critical premises including hospitals, dialysis centres and funerals, from October 13 to 16.

Four local water filling stations are also made available for commercial customers to purchase water supply and collected using their own water tankers.

More information on the disruption can be found on Air Selangor’s mobile app, and its Facebook, Instagram and Twitter account.
