SHAH ALAM, 21 Dec — Water supply in Petaling has fully recovered as of 7am today while restoration in other areas including Hulu Langat and Kuala Lumpur is still underway.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement said the water supply recovery in the affected areas has reached 17.7 per cent.

“For consumers’ information, the operations for Semenyih 2 Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Sg Langat WTP and Langat 2 WTP have fully commenced. For Cheras Batu 11 WTP, the cleaning process and damage assessment following the flood incident is being implemented.

“The expected full operations time for Cheras Batu 11 WTP is yet to be confirmed at this time.

“It is crucial for Air Selangor to ensure that all equipment at the water treatment plant is in good condition and can be operated without endangering the safety of Air Selangor’s onsite staff, especially those involving electricity,” the statement read.

Air Selangor said alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised in stages to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises during the unscheduled water supply disruption.

“We are seeking the consumers’ cooperation to practise social distancing and wear face masks while collecting the water supply from the water tankers.

“Air Selangor will provide updates progressively from time to time through all mediums, especially the mass media.

“Consumers can also refer to all our official communication channels such as the Air Selangor mobile app, FacebookInstagram and Twitter or Air Selangor at 15300, and any queries and complaints can be submitted to the Help Centre on the website www.airselangor.com.

“Air Selangor would also like to encourage the consumers to submit their inquiries and complaints to the non-voice communication channel on the Help Centre via www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor application,” it said.
