SHAH ALAM, Jan 4 — Nearly 41,000 tonnes of solid waste have been collected by KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) in eight flood-affected localities since December 20.
In a report issued by the state-owned company, the highest solid waste was collected in the Shah Alam City Council area, amounting to 16,503 tonnes.
The cleanup operation in the area is still underway as of yesterday, at 80 per cent completion.
The amount of wasted collected according to each local council is listed below:
— Subang Jaya City Council — 7,411 tonnes (82 per cent complete)
— Klang Municipal Council — 6,060 tonnes (85 per cent complete)
— Kajang Municipal Council — 5,820 tonnes (100 per cent complete)
