Johary Anuar sworn in as Subang Jaya mayor

SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — Dato’ Johary Anuar was sworn in as Subang Jaya mayor at the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) headquarters yesterday.

His appointment, which took effect on February 3, replaced former mayor Noraini Roslan who is now the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) president.

He holds a Master of Town Planning degree from the Berlin Technical University; a Bachelor of Operation Management degree from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM); a Diploma in Business Study from UiTM and a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan).

Prior to his appointment, Johary was the district officer at Petaling Land and District Office since 2020.

He is the second individual appointed for the position of Subang Jaya mayor and has over 22 years of experience in the civil service.

The following is Johary’s background:

2000 — Served as the assistant director in Intan

2007 — Served in the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry as the principal assistant director of the Land Information Section under the Land and Mines Department.

2009 — Served as the senior manager of the Human Resource Department in Lembaga Tabung Haji.

2010 — Principal assistant director of Public Service Department

2012 — Served as the deputy director of the Selangor State Government Office

2015 — Deputy mayor of Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ)

2020 — District officer at Petaling Land and District Office

2022 — Appointed as Subang Jaya mayor
