MBSJ: Contractors order to carry out immediate repairs on Taman Puncak Jalil road potholes

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, April 7 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has ordered its contractors to immediately repair roads with potholes caused by the water pipe installation project at Taman Puncak Jalil.

Its corporate and strategic management department deputy director Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said the contractors have agreed and will heed the instruction, with the works to begin by today at the latest.

“If the contractor fails to obey the instruction, MBSJ will implement the repairs via another appointed contractor.

“In turn, the repair costs for the pothole will be deducted from the project’s collateral money that was charged to the original contractor,” he said in a statement.

Azfarizal added the pipe-installation works have since been fully completed but road repairs can only be done via the mill and pave method, after the trial period for the pipes has been carried out in mid-April.

Taman Puncak Jalil is situated along the water pipe installation alignment, which is part of the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant development package carried out by Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad’s appointed contractor Syarikat Suhati Sdn Bhd.

For any information and complaints regarding the water pipe installation project, the public can contact Suhati Sdn Bhd via Kamarudzaman Sakom (019-2747514), Khairon Nizam (012-7601778) dan Syaiful (019-3242707)

MBSJ can also be contacted through the Subang Jaya Control Centre at 03-8024 7700.

The council’s statement today is in response to Malaysia Gazette’s report in Malay on April 4 with the headline ‘Penduduk Di Taman Puncak Jalil minta MBSJ atasi masalah jalan berlubang‘.
