RM1,000 fine or imprisonment for flouters of MBSJ’s heavy vehicles ban

SHAH ALAM, May 10 — A fine of RM1,000 will be imposed on drivers of heavy vehicles who drive during the peak hours in the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) area.

The local authority also informed that the driver who committed the offence could also be sentenced to up to three months in jail.

Based on the infographic info shared on MBSJ’s Facebook page, the driving ban period is from 6.30am to 9.30am and 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

The heavy vehicles ban applies to two roads under the council’s jurisdiction at Persiaran Tujuan and Persiaran Kewajiban.

MBSJ informed that the types of heavy vehicles banned are those with a load of more than 10,000 kilogrammes (kg) including oil or water tanker, timber lorry and trailer.
