PETALING JAYA, June 18 — The highlight of the Petaling Jaya City Council’s (MBPJ) 16th anniversary celebration this year would be a parade involving 40 teams, that will be held on next Saturday (June 26).
Its mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir said taking part in the parade are various departments, government agencies and community groups who are involved in helping MBPJ develop Petaling Jaya.
“The parade will be held at Laman MBPJ. The teams will march for about 500 meters to showcase their creativity.
“We will also hold 33 other events such as exhibitions, sales, competitions and tournaments that involve various parties,” he said.
He said this after handing over food baskets to 22 recipients at Lembah Subang People’s Housing Project (PPR) flats here today.
Azhan said in conjunction with the anniversary on Monday, they would also distribute souvenirs to babies born on that day.
“The babies will be known as ‘Anak Bandar Raya PJ’ and contributions will be given at several hospitals,” he said.
