SHAH ALAM, June 15 — Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (Yawas) has received a total of 3,849 applications for Anak Istimewa Selangor (AnIS) special assistance, as of June this year.

AnIS department head Danial Al-Rashid Haron said the review and evaluation process for the applications are being carried out in phases within the next two months.

“Out of all the applications received by Yawas, over 1,500 were complete with the required documents.

“The department will inform successful applicants using SMS, alternatively they can also check the results at www.anisselangor.com/bantuananis,” he told SelangorKini.

The special one-time basis assistance has a maximum limit of up to RM 5,000 per family and is open to special needs children aged 18 and under.

The state government’s initiative aims to reduce the cost of therapy, rehabilitation, education and living expenses (supplements/medicines) for special needs children in Selangor.

The types of assistances provided include for food, additional necessities, the purchase or repair of machine equipment, medicines and fee subsidies (such as for special therapy classes for special needs children).
