KUALA SELANGOR, July 4 — The Peduli Sihat health initiative is a sign that the Selangor state government cares for its civil servants.
Rabiatul Adawiyah Abdul Rahaman, 34, said the health assistance provided is able to ease the burden of less fortunate civil servants who have chronic diseases and are in need of treatment.
“So far I do not have any serious illness and have not received any aid even though it (the health insurance policy) is renewed every year. Nevertheless, for me, this kind of assistance is very helpful when there is an emergency.
“We don’t know when we would get sick or die, at least with the Peduli Sihat for civil servants, we can use it when it is needed,” said Rabiatul who works at the Kuala Selangor Land and District Office.
She was among the five recipients of Peduli Sihat for civil servants that were presented by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during the Selangor Penyayang roadshow held at the Stadium Utama Kuala Selangor here, yesterday.
Meanwhile, Rosman Sayan, 51, said the assistance could reduce the financial burden of low-grade civil servants, namely those Grade 44 and below.
“The state government really cares for us and I am very grateful to be chosen as one of the recipients.
“However, I hope it will be extended to cover all types of diseases and not just chronic diseases,” he added.
The Peduli Sihat for civil servants covers government employees in Selangor who are in Grade 44 and below with a limit of health and medical treatment up to RM10,000 per year, accidental or natural death benefits (RM10,000) and permanent disability (RM10,000).
