PETALING JAYA, July 30 — The Bukit Lanjan state constituency service center opened the Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) registration counter earlier today, for the convenience of Kampung Orang Asli Desa Temuan residents.

Its state assemblyman Elizabeth Wong said some 50 residents were also assisted in registering for the Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS) and Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) schemes, to ensure they do not miss out on the benefits provided by the state government.

“This is the first ground visit initiative, where we are prioritising the Orang Asli community as they are less skilled in filling out applications online while some do not have devices.

“Similarly, they obtain more information about all the welfare incentives offered to the people and can thus continue to apply,” she told SelangorKini.

During the event, Wong also donated basic food baskets to residents, in order to help ease the burden of their daily expenses.

Bingkas is a replacement of the Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (Kiss) and KISS IT (Single Mothers) initiatives, which will benefit some 30,000 families with an allocation of RM108 million.

It is part of the 44 incentives under Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP), meant for recipients to receive RM300 in monthly assistance or RM3,600 per year.
