KLANG, Aug 30 — The issue of unity serves as the basis and a priority of the state government, as Selangor is the choice and focus of various quarters, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the state offers both career opportunities and also attracts investors to generate the economy, in addition to attracting operators of international-class education centres.
“From the 1970s until now, Selangor is one of the states that has received the most migration. A booming economy, close to the central administration. There is also a busy port in Klang alongside airports in Subang and Sepang.
“As such unity is of the utmost importance, not only limited to the three main races of Malay, Chinese and Indian but including the various ethnic groups from Sabah, Sarawak, as well as foreign nationals,” Amirudin said in his speech during the introduction ceremony for Selangor Unity Ambassadors 2022 earlier today.
He added that from 2018 to 2021, Selangor’s investments increased due to infrastructural progress and the state’s strong economy.
“We are the choice, not only in attracting general workers but professionals as well. Some are lecturers and chief executive officers who chose to live in Selangor.
“Thus I believe understanding and unity are vital in society. The state government constantly strives to formulate policies to celebrate all,” Amirudin said.
Previously, the Menteri Besar stated his administration adopts a fair and just attitude to protect all social layers, including Selangor residents from other states.
He said this is a clear indication the state government is fully committed to helping society in all aspects including economically, socially and in terms of education.
